Hi, I'm an award-winning British photographer represented by Eyevine and Getty Images. In addition to the UK I’ve worked around the world but most extensively in India where I lived between 2007 and 2016. My clients have included commercial, media, press, corporate, NGO and publishing companies. Now based in Dorset, England, I’m focussing on landscapes and the natural world. All images are available to purchase as open edition prints or canvasses, prices upon application

I worked closely with Simon for several weeks in Nepal on coverage of the 2015 earthquake. Simon is the consummate pro: cool under pressure and with a phenomenal eye, he delivered. He's a true pleasure to work with both professionally and personally

Jesse Pesta, Deputy Editor for Climate and Environment at the New York Times

Dean Nelson, foreign correspondent. "Simon is a fabulous photographer and a great road companion. Over my ten years as a Delhi-based foreign correspondent, first for The Sunday Times and then the Daily Telegraph, Simon’s sharp eye for a great picture illuminated and elevated my stories and helped readers gaze right into the heart of the story.

We reported the horrific Mumbai terrorist attacks together - five days in which we barely slept. We covered the 2014 Indian general election, on the stump with a gangster politician who’d served time for murder, and interviewed the victims and widows of the 2002 Gulbarg massacre in Gujarat. We travelled to Srinagar to interview Kashmir’s Essex-Boy chief minister and hiked through the jungles of Orissa to report on tribal protestors resisting a billionaire’s plan to mine their holy mountain.

As a print journalist, no matter how much you think you’ve captured a story in words, the photographs take the reader to a more emotional place. That's what Simon does and I’m so happy I had the chance to work and travel with him"

Francis Elliott, former South Asia Editor, The Times. "Simon is a brave, resourceful and creative professional who in my experience always went the extra mile to get a full set that gave desks all the choice they needed. He's also terrific fun and so a pleasure to work with - even when things get sticky"

Stephanie Nolen, Global Health Reporter for The New York Times: “Simon is a gifted photographer and a pleasure to work with - a professional who handles even rough and challenging assignments with aplomb. We worked together on a number of sensitive issues and in difficult places and he was an excellent collaborator”

Andrew Buncombe Former Asia Correspondent, The Independent: "I had the privilege to work with Simon numerous times on assignment in India. Simon is not only an excellent photographer, he is also a warm and respectful human being, something that often helped overcome tense situations and win over people when dealing with a sensitive or difficult story. People simply trusted him. He’s also a wonderful traveling companion, determined to get the story no matter how long a day, or how many hours we had to put in"

Annie Gowen, former India bureau chief, The Washington Post: “I worked with Simon De Trey-White on several assignments while I was the India bureau chief of The Washington Post, including a story on expanding coal use and a very sensitive series on rape victims. I always found him to be a patient and generous collaborator during challenging assignments who also worked well with his subjects. Working overseas isn’t easy - but he pulled it off with aplomb.”

Sam Barcroft, Founder, Barcroft Media: “Simon worked very hard to deliver the goods in often challenging situations at Barcroft Media. He showed good professionalism and a cool head. His pictures were consistently excellent”

Oliver Trumble, Head of LSE (UoL) Programmes at The London School of Economics and Political Science: ’Simon worked for us to a very complex and challenging brief in India. We were delighted with the results. He has a strong ability to really get to grips with what the client wants to achieve through photography and works in a personable and creative way to capture outstanding images. The local knowledge he deploys in his work ensured we were able to capture strong images in an international environment. His calm and consistent approach makes working with Simon a pleasure. Would definitely use his services again”
